I can't stop playing Free Rice! It's great!

Basically you go to the website and you get a vocabulary word and then a list to choose from to define it. For every word you get right the website contributes 20 grains of rice to the UN to fight hunger.

So 20 grain of rice for every right word? Big whoop. But NPR reports that players have already earned 8 Billion grains of rice for the program...that's a lot of rice.

It's great while you're working...you can take a break, go to the website and play a few rounds.

I just bought online tickets for "The Golden Compass"! I am so freakin' excited I could wet myself. I have been expectant for this movie since last year.

Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

We have WAY too much decking for our halls....no seriously.

It took me most of the evening Friday, all day Saturday and I finished decorating Sunday afternoon. Two trees trimmed, lights in windows, Xmas fripperies and baubles artfully displayed, door frames festooned and stockings hung with care.

Why?

I guess we like to be fully immersed in the holidays. It goes back to that seasonality thing.

Jonas was trying to be helpful (translate annoying)...so he had to spend most of the day Saturday in time out in the extra bedroom to keep him from attacking the various Christmas items. Now that they are up he has been very behaved and not attacked anything...but when they were in open boxes, well that was just too much of a temptation.

bloodlossgirl and Dr. Nick came by on Sunday to watch the last few episodes of Firefly which was great, giving me an excuse to watch "Objects In Space", one of the best episodes of TV ever.
